FAQ

How is Gnosis VPN different?

Gnosis VPN is the only VPN you don’t have to trust.

A regular VPN sees where you are and what you do, all in one place. That’s no better than trusting your ISP. Gnosis VPN sends your traffic through the HOPR network, hundreds of independently run nodes where each one only sees the step before and after it. No single party, including us, sees both where you are and what you’re browsing.

Do you keep logs?

There’s no central server, so no central place where activity logs could exist. The app itself has no account, so there’s no name or email attached to what you do. You can submit app logs on a voluntary basis to help us test and debug. Individual exits can keep logs at their discretion, but they cannot see who you are.

What does it cost?

Rather than a subscription, you just pay for the data you want to use, the way you’d pay for mobile data. Payments go to the people running the network, so everyone is properly incentivized. Join the waitlist for early access to pricing info and our launch offer.

Which devices does it work on?

Right now Gnosis VPN runs on macOS (Apple Silicon) and Linux (Debian-based distributions). Windows and mobile aren’t supported in this release – join the waitlist and we’ll tell you when they are.

When can I use it?

Early access starts November 16, and the public launch is November 23. Join the waitlist to be the first to use the VPN.

Do I need to know about crypto?

You just need a wallet – the app and our funding tool will walk you through the rest.

How does Gnosis VPN relate to HOPR and Gnosis?

HOPR is a privacy network, and Gnosis VPN is the first major service on top of it. Both are open source. Gnosis VPN is funded by the Gnosis DAO and built by the HOPR team. It’s a proudly Gnosis product but is not funded or operated by Gnosis Ltd.

Can I help run the network?

Yes. Gnosis VPN depends on people running nodes, and operators are paid for the traffic they carry. Come and talk to us at the Gnosis booth, or use the “Get started” button below.

Want to help power Gnosis VPN?

Gnosis VPN depends on independently operated infrastructure. You can help by running an exit node.
